Ten percent of all profits from the sale of my books will be donated to Roberta’s Place in Grants, N.M. Roberta’s Place offers shelter and support for survivors of intimate partner domestic violence.

Roberta’s Place is a non-profit organization. We do not charge for any services provided to victims and their children, which include transportation for medical appointments, counseling, shopping, and emergency shelter, among others.

Roberta’s Place is located in Grants, New Mexico, with a primary service area encompassing the whole of Cibola County, including the Laguna, Acoma, and Ramah Indian Reservations. Our services are unduplicated by any other agency in Cibola County.

Roberta’s Place, Inc. is committed to working for personal, community, and social change to eliminate Domestic Violence in the lives of women, children, and families. Roberta’s place achieves this by providing the following:

Shelter, counseling, educational classes, and support services for victims of domestic violence and their children.

Non-residential (non-shelter) counseling, educational classes, and support services for domestic abuse survivors and their children.

Empower survivors and their children to advocate for themselves.

Participate in efforts to have abusers take responsibility for, and end violent and abusive behavior toward their partners through our Batters’ Intervention Program.

Advocate for changes supportive of domestic violence victims in our legislative, judicial, and bureaucratic systems.

Roberta’s Place provides counseling (professional and peer counseling), shelter, advocacy support, skills and knowledge, and parenting classes for both shelter residents and non-shelter residents. Roberta’s Place works closely with community groups, law enforcement agencies, courts, schools, tribal groups, and social service organizations to educate, reduce, and eliminate the incidences of domestic violence.

Roberta’s Place also provides community education in the schools, Head Start programs, community service organizations, women’s prison, and home health care organizations to provide awareness and education to the public about domestic violence prevention.
